YNDH Wellness for schools

Back to Basics

A trauma-informed school wellness partnership.

Helping educators regulate, reconnect and build healthier school communities through practical professional learning and sustainable systems of care.

The need

Educator wellness is a systems issue.

Educators carry more than lesson plans. They navigate growing workloads, emotional demands, student needs and the quiet weight of supporting entire communities.

Individual self-care matters, but sustainable wellness grows when personal regulation, team connection, leadership support and clear organizational practices work together.

Self

Regulation, boundaries, rest and sustainable practice.

Team

Trust, communication, co-regulation and collective care.

Leadership

Supportive expectations, modeling and meaningful follow-through.

System

Referral pathways, evaluation and long-term integration.

The partnership model

A pathway—not another one-time wellness event.

Begin with the level your staff needs now. Each tier can stand alone or become the doorway into deeper, longer-term support.

01

90 minutes to 3 hours

Restore

A practical introduction to stress, nervous-system regulation, secondary traumatic stress, accessible movement, mindfulness and school-day application.

Participants leave with tools they can use immediately.
02

4- to 6-week series

Reconnect

A guided professional-learning journey through regulation, boundaries, trauma-informed communication, rest, resilience and collective care.

Educators build consistent, sustainable wellness practices.
03

Semester or school year

Reimagine

A deeper partnership combining staff learning, leadership coaching, assessment, monthly practice, referral resources and evaluation.

Wellness becomes part of the school culture and operating rhythm.

The learning journey

Six modules. One sustainable pathway.

Every session moves through a trauma-informed rhythm: arrive, learn, experience, connect, apply and integrate.

Module 01

Stress, Safety & Regulation

Understand stress responses, recognize activation and shutdown, and practice grounding.

Module 02

The Educator Nervous System

Explore fight, flight, freeze and shutdown without labeling or diagnosing behavior.

Module 03

Boundaries, Burnout & Secondary Stress

Recognize emotional overload and build caring, sustainable professional limits.

Module 04

Trauma-Informed Communication

Use language that supports dignity, choice, clarity, listening and co-regulation.

Module 05

Rest, Resilience & Sustainable Practice

Build realistic micro-practices through movement, mindfulness and guided rest.

Module 06

From Self-Care to Collective Care

Care is built into the way we teach.
